The Great Career Relaunch

The Great Career Relaunch

Relaunching My Career Like a Rocket, But with Fewer Explosions

Well, here we are. After spending some quality time sharpening my leadership skills, plotting my next move, and binging on the latest streaming series, I am officially relaunching my career and looking for my next exciting opportunity!

That’s right - I am back, refreshed, recharged, and ready to tackle the tech world like an over-caffeinated software engineer debugging code at 2 AM.

Where Have I Been?

For those who have been wondering, “Hey, what’s Charles been up to lately?” - good question! No, I haven’t been off the grid, living in a remote cabin, growing a beard, and writing a manifesto (though that does sound like an interesting sabbatical). Instead, I have spent the past year:

  • Leveling up my leadership skills - Turns out, managing a team of engineers is a lot like herding cats, but with more diagrams. So, I invested time in refining my ability to lead, mentor, and inspire teams to build great things.
  • Spending time with family - Because even the most complex system architectures pale in comparison to the complexity of managing a chaotic family.
  • Exploring New Technologies - I have been keeping busy by exploring the latest technology, including AI, Large Language Models, and Cloud Computing,  and finding new ways to apply them to real-world challenges.
What’s Next?

I am on the lookout for a new role where I can bring my experience in software engineering leadership, digital media, and software engineering to a team that values innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving. Ideally, somewhere that appreciates both big ideas and bad puns, because let’s be honest - what’s a sprint planning meeting without a bad joke?

How You Can Join the Fun

If you know of an opportunity that aligns with my experience, let’s chat! I’d love to hear about companies looking for a leader who can drive engineering excellence while keeping things fun. If you don’t have leads but just want to catch up, exchange tech horror stories, or debate tabs vs. spaces, I’m here for that too. Send me an email or use my Contact Me page.

You can view my resume here (apparently, just telling people I’m awesome isn’t enough), and you can always connect with me on LinkedIn. Also, feel free to look around at my new website - Charles Harless Dossier.

Here’s to new beginnings, great opportunities, and, most importantly, not having to write another cover letter anytime soon.

TL;DR: I’m relaunching my career, looking for a great opportunity, and open to connecting!
